Since Scott’s passing, there have been other dear friends who have crossed the finish line as well. We grieve their loss, but also rejoice that they are home, safe and sound. And yet the reality is that we all travel this same mortal road. We will all be “passing thru” from this life to the next. Someday….
Whether the truth bounds in you triumphantly right now, or whether you’re simply hanging on to it for dear life, remember you are not alone and you are so very loved. There is a Healer who will bind up your broken heart and a Shepherd who will lead you to still waters. And He will give you joy and hope and ultimately, show you the way home.
Some truths to ponder:
“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8
“God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Romans 8: 28
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.“ Romans 15:13
“For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord. They are plans for good and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
“Rejoice always, Pray without ceising, in all things give thanks, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Show Me the Way
Show me the way. Show me the way.
Show me the way to go home.
Show me the way. Show me the way.
Show me the way to go home.
Longing for mansions and streets of gold,
Longing for the lover of my soul,
Longing for rest from the weary road,
Longing to find my way home. Show me the way….
May my roots here be shallow. May my roots there be deep.
May I not be frightened for my time to sleep;
For waking I’ll find that I’m in your arms
And I’ll find I’m finally at Home!! Show me the way…
Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
calling for you and for me.
See on the portals, he’s waiting and watching.
Watching for you and for me.
Come home. Come home.
Ye who are weary come home
Earnestly tenderly Jesus is calling,
Calling oh sinner, come home.
